God describes David as “a man after My own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22). That does not mean that he was blameless. We only need to read 2 Samuel 11 to see that David has fallen very low: he took the wife of one of his generals, Bathsheba, because she was very beautiful. When Bathsheba turned out to be pregnant, David called her husband Uriah home from the battle field hoping he would sleep with her. That would “solve” the problem of Bathsheba’s pregnancy. But Uriah didn’t go home, not even when made drunk, so David sent him back to the battle field with a letter ordering his death. After Uriah’s death, David married Bathsheba. The description of this whole story ends with a clear comment: “the thing that David had done displeased the Lord” (2 Samuel 11:27). God didn’t let David get away with this. He confronted him with his sin, and David repented. Psalm 51 gives us an intimate glimpse of his emotions:

Danny signed up for the competion and his family was there, the jitterbug, the worm, the crab and the chicken all came to cheer him on. Danny gets on stage and closed his eyes while the music started paly in front of the judges. He slightly bent his knees, extended his arms out to the side then quickly straightened his legs stomping his paws on the stage with his hands up over his head. He kept repeating in a stomping motion lowering and raising his hands. At fist the audience and the judges were frightened until Danny starts to do this to the beat of the music. Then the audience started to do it with him. When the music ended Danny stood there with his hands in the air with head to the sky. One judge started to clap then all the judges started to clap and the audience broke into a loud roar of enthusiasm. The judges gave Danny all 10's across board. His mother was so proud, and his father apologized for telling not to chase his dream. The moral of the story is to always go after your dreams. Your vision may not be someone's else's vision. John Jr gave Yuēhàn some history about the Civil War. The American Civil War was a war between the Union (Northern US States) and the Confederacy (Southern US States) that lasted from 1861-1865. The war was fought over disagreements about slavery, states vs. federal rights, the election of Abraham Lincoln, and the economy. 3. John Jr found some information on the battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg was a three-day battle fought between Union and Confederate forces between July 1 and July 3, 1863, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The battle, which was won by the Union, is widely considered the Civil War's turning point, ending the Confederacy's aspirations to establish an independent nation. It was the Civil War's bloodiest battle, claiming over 50,000 combined casualties over three days. 4. Yuēhàn found some information of the final battle and shared it with John Jr. The Battle of Palmito Ranch took place on May 12–13, 1865, near the Rio Grande in Cameron County, Texas. The battle was fought between Confederate forces under Col. John S. “Rip” Ford and Union forces under Col. Theodore H. Barrett. The battle resulted in a Confederate victory. 5. John.
