This is Lily. She’s happy, just like you. But sometimes, not all children feel safe. Sometimes, bad things happen to kids, like being hurt or feeling scared. This is called abuse. One day, Lily noticed her friend Sam wasn’t smiling like he used to. He had a bruise on his arm and looked sad. When Lily asked if everything was okay, Sam said, "I don’t want to get in trouble." Lily didn’t know what to do. She was worried but didn’t want to upset Sam. She thought hard and decided it was important to help. So, Lily told her teacher, "I’m worried about Sam." The teacher listened and thanked Lily for speaking up. The grown-ups made sure Sam got help, and soon, he felt safe again. When kids like Lily speak up, it can stop bad things from happening. Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and happy. If you ever see something that doesn’t feel right, tell a grown-up you trust. Even one voice can make a big difference. Speak up, be brave, and help make the world a better place for everyone.

**The Magic Blue Ball** Once upon a time, in a little village, there was a boy named Timi who loved his bright blue ball. It was shiny, bouncy, and made the most cheerful sound when it hit the ground. Timi called it his "magic ball." One sunny afternoon, Timi was playing in the park when his friend Ayo came by. "Wow, Timi! Your ball is so cool! Can I play with it?" Ayo asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Timi held the ball tightly. "But it’s my special ball. What if it gets lost?" he said nervously. Just then, a soft wind blew through the park, and a little bird chirped from a nearby tree. "Sharing brings smiles!" it seemed to sing. Timi thought for a moment. "Okay, Ayo, you can play with it. Let’s play together!" Ayo’s face lit up like the sun, and the two friends tossed the ball back and forth, laughing and cheering as they ran around the park. Soon, other children joined in too, and the little park was filled with giggles and joy. By the end of the day, Timi realized something magical. His ball didn’t just make him happy—it made everyone happy when they played together. As they sat under the tree, Ayo smiled and said, "Thanks for sharing, Timi. This was the best day ever!" From that day on, Timi’s magic ball wasn’t just his—it was everyone’s favorite. And Timi discovered that sharing really did bring the biggest smiles. The end.

Bird laughed, “Ha ha! Dino fell!” Dino felt hurt and didn’t want Bird anymore. Dino went home crying, “Bird isn’t nice! I don’t want him as a friend!” He missed playing, but felt so mad inside. The next day, Dino saw Bird. Bird said, “I’m sorry, Dino! Please be my friend again!” Dino smiled and said, “Okay!” They played happily together!

In Nido, they learned to crawl, With tiny steps, they'd never fall. With gentle hands and songs so bright, Their guides made everything feel right. "Claire, Grace, Lily," guides would say, "Curiosity will light your way." With every hug and every cheer, They felt so safe, with nothing to fear. In Toddler's room, with tools so grand, They learned together, hand in hand. Claire built towers reaching high, Grace sorted beads, counting by. Lily poured water with careful grace, A smile lighting up her face. "Look at us," they'd say with glee, "We're growing up, just wait and see!" In Children's House, more fun was found, With books and nature all around. They read and wrote, and counted too, Exploring worlds so fresh and new. Miss Rebekah taught Claire math so grand, With challenging work and a trinomial cube in hand. Miss Cassandra lent her a sweater so snug, A gesture of kindness, like a warm hug. "Claire, Grace, Lily," guides would sing, "You can do most anything. With your friends right by your side, The world is wide, your hearts are wide." Around the sun, they'd walk with pride, A birthday journey, side by side. With each new year, a story spun, Of growth and learning, joy and fun. Now the day has come to part, With memories dear, within their hearts. Graduating to kindergarten they go, With courage and love, their hearts aglow. "Thank you, guides," they said with cheer, "For all the love and care this year. We'll take your lessons, near and far, And always remember who we are." Hand in hand, they walked away, Ready to face a brand new day. Claire, Grace, and Lily too, Off to adventures, bright and true.

Nik is from Haiti and moving to America to go to school. He is excited to meet his new family, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a dog. He is very scared to leave Haiti. Nik was scared on the plane but loved seeing the big city lights. He liked his new home, it was bigger than hes ever seen. The washing machine and dryer was very scary to him because he had never seen one before. His dog Luna was sweet and friendly. All of the food is very different. He didn't like ice cream or cake but he loved spaghetti and pizza. Nik was both excited and sad at bedtime. He's never had a room or a bed to himself so it was a little scary. His new mom stayed with him until he was ready for sleep. As he lied there alone, looking at the stars in the sky, he wasn't scared anymore because he knew his family in Haiti was looking at the same stars.

Help my children feel at ease while they know what I’m doing this weekend as I go away from them for the first time. Tell them about how I’m going to be so sad and miss them as I leave the house. How I think about them all the time I’m gone. How I get an uber to the airport, then go through airport security and sit at the lounge before getting on an Air New Zealand plane and fly to Queenstown. How happy I am to be reunited with all my best friends. We are all mums leaving our kids for the first time so we all FaceTime our kids and miss them a lot. And talk about how proud we are of them. Then we have a Mexican night dinner. Then we do a dance class. And after 2 nights away of having fun, I’m so excited to go to the airport and fly back to sydney. Meanwhile Dadda is spoiling them with fun treats like burgers and chips, and taking them to soccer and swimming classes, and even a friends birthday party. They get to watch TV and have so much fun jumping on the bed and being silly with Dadda. Then how I get reunited with my boys Teddy and Max and I’m so happy I could cry with joy.
